Above is Espoito's - one of Ridgewood's all-time favorite bars. Many celebrated the end of the draft here in late January, 1973.
We all had our favorite places back in high school. Two big ones - were Esposito's and The Fireplace! I was working across the street at Baskin Robbins Ice Cream and a lot of my friends were at Esposito's when we all heard that the armed services draft ended - it was January 27, 1973 during the Vietnam War - wow there was a lot of celebrating that week! Nobody wants to fight for lost causes.............

Above is an early shot of another favorite - "The Fireplace" which is still going strong! It was a favorite place to go after games, parties and dates. You'd always see rival Paramus there too!
